Rod Anderson Boyle - Green School Founder: has lived nearly all his life in the Chiltern Hills and woodlands; climbing many of the trees in the Hockeridge Woods, Ashridge & Wendover Forest since boyhood. He has over 25 years experience of life outdoors in many of the wooded and mountainous regions of the UK.
Travels further afield have taken him from the heights of the French and Austrian Alps to the rugged wilderness of the Spanish Gredos mountains. He has followed the trails of the Inca Kings through the cloud forest of the Peruvian Andes and on to Machu Picchu. A boyhood passion for spending time in the mountains in winter has taken him to remote parts of the Scottish highlands, Snowdonia, Lake District and Brecon Beacons as well as a real-life survival experience in the Norwegian Telemark Mountains in the winter of 2007.
Having worked as a Recreation Ranger for the Forestry Commission and an Education Officer for the Box Moor Trust he has taught many local children and young people about their local environment, its habitats and wildlife. Rod also runs tracking workshops for the Natural History Museum at Tring and the Forestry Commission at Wendover. He has shared his knowledge of outdoor skills with local groups as well as the Armed Forces, and aims to continue working within and being a resource to his local community for the foreseeable future. |
